One of the most important ways in which Prato Textile Museum fulfils its educational mission is via the organization of educational activities for schools. Indeed, its detailed programme of initiatives is designed to satisfy the needs of schools of all levels and includes guided tours, workshops and specific training courses focusing on many aspects of both ancient and contemporary textile manufacturing systems. The contents of the programme and teaching methods adopted vary from year to year.
In addition, schools may work together with the Museum with a view to planning specific educational courses. These initiatives generally include variety of classroom lessons held either in the school of reference or at the museum, as well as creative workshops, practical activities and field trips. Obviously the length of such courses varies according to the contents and teaching methods adopted.

Prato Textile Museum’s educational activities for schools are subject to payment of a fee.
