Prato workshop. Italian fabrics from Renaissance
20/9/2013 - 13/5/2014
On the occasion of the exhibition dedicated to the genius of Filippo Lippi and Donatello in the Museum of Praetorian Palace of Prato (September 13, 2013 - January 13, 2014) the Textile Museum opens an exhibition focused on the great ascent of the Italian textile workshops of the Renaissance.
The wealth, technical perfection and design of velvets, damasks and lampasses make Italian fabrics of this period the most requested by national and international markets for luxury goods.
The exhibition highlights the beauty of over eighty fabrics, playing with the call between the exhibits and pictures of some of the most important figurative works of the Renaissance, including those featured in the exhibition of the Praetorian Palace.
The exhibition relies on the collaboration of the Foundation Lisio of Florence, with the reproduction of fabrics inspired by the paintings of the great masters, and the Leonardo Museum in Vinci with the presentation of some projects of machinery made by the Tuscan genius.
Special reduced admission for ticket holders of the Praetorian Palace: EUR 5, valid both for individuals and for groups
