Regulations

Pursuant to the Deed of Orientation on the Technical-Scientific Criteria and Operating Standards of Museums (Legislative Decree N° 118/98, Section 150, Subsection 6, approved by Ministerial Decree of 10.05.2001), the approval of a set of Regulations is fundamental to the organization and operation of all museums.

The Deed of Orientation acknowledges the instructions supplied by the International Council of Museums’ Code of Ethics, according to which:

…every museum must have “a written and published constitution, statute or other public document, in accordance with national laws which clearly states the museum's legal status, mission, permanence, and non-profit nature. The governing body should prepare, publicize and be guided by a statement of the mission, objectives, and policies of the museum and of the role and composition of the governing body.” (1.1 and 1.2 of Code of Ethics)

The legal status, eligible forms of management and administration, financial status, general aims and means of management of the collections of Prato Textile Museum are regulated by the Articles of Association of Prato Textile Museum Foundation.
Nevertheless, in order to ensure complete compliance with the standards outlined in the Deed of Orientation (Area 1), Prato Textile Museum Foundation is currently drafting of a set of Prato Textile Museum Regulations..
