The members of the Association of Friends of Prato Textile Museum offer hands-on support to the Museum by participating actively in all its initiatives.
Founded by members of the Association of Former Pupils of T. Buzzi Technical Institute, a number of enthusiasts and several local companies, the Association of Friends of Prato Textile Museum contributes to improving the historic and artistic collections of Prato Textile Museum by enabling the acquisition of new items, as well as by promoting textile-oriented cultural initiatives, training courses and adult and family educational activities.
The Association is regulated by a set of Articles of Association (download pdf) according to which the Association’s managing bodies must be elected by the general body of members and hold office for 3 years.

The Association of Friends of Prato Textile Museum currently includes over 150 members including founding members, honorary members, supporters and ordinary members. All members are expected to pay an annual membership fee, although the amount differs according to the type of membership chosen. The Association Membership Card entitles the holder to a series of discounts on entrance fees and the price of activities organized by Prato Textile Museum as well as other cultural institutes in the city of Prato.

Newsletter

In January 2007 the Association of Friends of Prato Textile Museum commenced publication of a six-monthly newsletter. The main aim of this publication is to provide the Association’s members with details of all the activities in the Prato Textile Museum calendar, however it has also proved a highly effective means of promoting the Museum, giving visibility to its activities and encouraging new members.
