Volunteers and Museums: a manual of good practice

VOCH Project - Final Conference. Friday 2 October 2009 - Palazzo Comunale

On Friday 2 October 2009, Prato Textile Museum organizes the final conference of the VOCH Project "Volunteers and Museum: a manual of good practice".
Volunteers for Cultural Heritage is an European project, funded by the European Commission as part of the Grundtvig lifelong learning programme, for the 2007-2009 period. The project starts out by acknowledging the increasing importance of the voluntary sector for preserving cultural heritage and running cultural institutions and wants to explore deeply the phenomenon.
The project activities included an Europe-wide research on volunteers in several European museums and the identification of good practice case studies. The dissemination of the project outcomes has been made through conferences, information days and the publication of a four languages handbook. The final conference wants to be an occasion to deliver some guidelines for good practice when working with volunteers, through the presentation of some interesting European case studies.

A copy of the book “Volunteers in Museums and Cultural Heritage. A European Handbook” will be send to all participants.

Reservation is kindly requested.
