Prato Textile Museum is Italy’s largest centre for the study, conservation and exhibition of historic and contemporary textiles. Managed by Prato Textile Museum Foundation, a foundation founded in November 2003 by Prato Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Craft, the Municipality of Prato, the Province of Prato and Prato Industrial Union and supported by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Prato and Cariprato banks, Prato Textile Museum initially opened in 1975 at Tullio Buzzi Technical Institute, although, since May 2003, it has been definitively housed in the converted Campolmi textile mill in the centre of Prato.
